ADMISSION PROCESS

Cross Classical Academy has implemented a thorough admissions process in an attempt not to be exclusive, but to be inclusive of families who strongly desire a Christian Classical education for their children with an emphasis on character development and parental involvement. Please reference this checklist as a guide to completing the application process.

1. INFORMATIONAL MEETING

Parents attend an informational meeting or visit to receive an overview of the school and application packet.

2. REQUIRED READING

Read the required books on Classical Christian education and University-Model Schools®

  • Character Driven College Preparation by Dr. John Turner, Jr.

  • An Introduction to Classical Christian Education, A Guide for Parents by Christopher A. Perrin, M.Div., PH.D.

  • Recommended (not required)- Kingdom Education by Glen Schultz

3. PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER

Consider your family’s needs for education and whether those needs would best be met by Cross Classical Academy.

4. SUBMIT APPLICATION

Complete and submit an application form, attach all requested documents, enclose $150 application fee per family and mail to:

Cross Classical Academy PO Box 1422 Brownwood, TX 76804

Please note that after March 31st, the Admission Committee will choose to process applications on a case-by-case basis and the actual date when you formally apply for admissions may be used to help determine course registration priority relative to other new students. Applications will only be considered at the discretion of the Admissions Committee under special circumstances after March 31st.

5. FAMILY INTERVIEW

If, after processing the application, the Admissions Committee feels your family is a potential match for CCA, a family interview will be scheduled. This interview is for the purpose of discussing the compatibility of the family’s goals with the school’s methods and philosophy. Parents will need to have read the required reading prior to the scheduling of a family interview.

6. PLACEMENT TESTING

All incoming students will be asked to participate in entrance testing. Testing results may influence student placement.

7. TUITION PAYMENT

Upon admission acceptance, you will receive an acceptance letter along with a registration packet and an invoice for the amount of tuition and fees. Please see Tuition & Fees enclosure for additional details. Provided that payment is received when due, your child’s registration will be processed but remain in pending status until the admissions process is complete and course times and availability are determined. Before the first week of classes, you will receive your child’s course schedule and room/teacher assignments.
